19th August, 2021. Kafue Town Council Advances Implementation Of The ScRiKa Project

Kafue Town Council has advanced implementation of the Strengthening Climate Resilience  in the Kafue Sub-Basin (ScriKa) Project Funded by the African Development Bank through the Ministry of National Development Planning and Ministry of Local Government in Kambale, Chiawa and Chikupi Wards of Kafue District at the total cost of K7,450,411.08.

The project aims at  strengthening the adaptive change due to climate variabilities  for vulnerable communities.

The scope of works for the project include construction of seventeen solar powered boreholes with seventeen by ten thousand litre capacity water tanks, seventeen water kiosks, seventeen animal drinking troughs, eight goat houses, three poultry houses, four fish ponds and one pig pen.

The project is being undertaken in various communities of Chiawa, Kambale and Chikupi Wards of the District and is aimed at helping vulnerable  communities to be self sustained through farming.
