Finance Department

Finance Department

It is headed by the district treasurer. This department is responsible for the collection and administration of monies on behalf of Kafue District Council. The Department consists of three sections namely:

Revenue Section

This section administers finances that are generated from several revenue sources such as property rates, general revenue, personal levy, licenses, billboards etc..

Expenditure and Final Accounts

This section deals with the preparation of payrolls and making of various payments pertaining to council operations, consolidates annual procurement plans, quarterly financial reports, maintenance of cash books, bank reconciliation statement, maintenance of general ledger, etc.

Information Technology Section

Provide leadership in the design, development and maintenance of the Council’s information systems and e-technologies. Through the installation and support of the technical infrastructure of the Council’s Local Area Network (LAN), this Section maintains customer relationships with all council staff to provide them with the tools required in the performance of their responsibilities to the people of Kafue District.
