✨ Kafue was officially declared as a district in 1997. Before this year, Kafue was part of the larger Lusaka Rural area which also included Chongwe and Rufunsa.

✨The district has 1 constituency “Kafue Constituency” which 18 Wards with an area of approximately 4,471 square Kilometres.

✨ Kafue became famous for many big factories! Kafue is known for producing fertilizer, clothes, boats, beer, and concrete. These industries helped Kafue grow into a modern town and even supplied other countries in Southern Africa.

✨ Kafue lies between the heights of 339 meters above sea level to the south and 1455 metres above sea level to the north.

✨ Kafue is one of the 6 districts in Lusaka province.

✨ The district shares its boarders with Chilanga, Chongwe, Rufunsa, Luangwa, and Lusaka in the north, and neighbouring districts in Southern Province are Mazabuka, Chirundu and Chikankata districts.

✨ It is located 45 Kilometres south of Lusaka City, the capital city of Zambia. Kafue is bound by the Zambezi River, which forms part of the international boundary with Zimbabwe. To the eastern border, it is bound by the Chongwe River.

The District has a population of 219,574 People (113,022 are Women and 106,574 are men)
